FULL SERVICE DENTAL CARE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN
Routine dental exams are a big part of maintaining a healthy smile. At Hillcrest Dental Care, we offer comprehensive dental exams for the entire family. At each exam, we check for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other potential problems that require treatment. X-rays of your mouth may also be taken during your dental exam. Digital x-rays produce an image that can be viewed during your visit on our computer screens in each operatory.
There is nothing more beautiful than a natural healthy smile. We can restore your smile to an attractive, functional state with crowns; tooth colored fillings, and porcelain bridges. We are dedicated to making durable, natural, long lasting restorations.
Patients who need to have cavities filled or metallic fillings replaced can receive tooth-colored fillings. Made of durable ceramic material, natural looking fillings are an attractive and safe alternative to traditional metallic fillings.
Root Canal
(Endodontic Therapy) is the removal of the pulp tissue from the tooth. The pulp tissue refers to the nerve and blood vessels of the tooth. Endodontic Therapy may be necessary to save your natural tooth if the pulp tissue is irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated with decay, very deep fillings, tooth fracture or trauma, or periodontal disease.
Root Canal Therapy
Inside each tooth is the pulp, which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth, it runs like a thread down through the root. When the pulp is diseased or injured, the pulp tissue dies. If you don’t remove it, your tooth gets infected and you could lose it. After the dentist removes the pulp, the root canal is cleaned and sealed off to protect it. Then your dentist places a protective porcelain crown that strengthens the tooth and prolongs its use. Most of the time, a root canal is a relatively simple procedure with little or no discomfort involving one to three visits. Best of all, it can save your tooth and your smile!
If you have experienced loss of your natural teeth from periodontal disease, tooth decay, or injury, it can often be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Your appearance and your health will benefit from replacing missing teeth. Dentures are made of durable materials resulting in a natural smile and can last for years when cared for properly. Hillcrest Dental Care provides both conventional and immediate placement of dentures at our practice.
Scaling and root planning is the most common and conservative form of treatment for periodontal (gum) disease. Scaling is basically the process of removing dental tartar from the surfaces of the teeth. Root planning is the process of smoothing the root surfaces and removing any infected tooth structure.
Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening is among the most popular cosmetic dental procedures because it can greatly improve how your teeth look. The most common type of tooth whitening uses a gel-like whitening solution that is applied directly to the tooth surface. This product contains some form of hydrogen peroxide. We offer bleaching trays for in-home whitening.
